For SpaceX, the launch of another Falcon 9 on the 6th of March is a major milestone for the company: “Falcon 9 flight 50 launches tonight, carrying Hispasat for Spain. At 6 metric tons and almost the size of a city bus, it will be the largest geostationary satellite we’ve ever flown.” Elon Musk tweeted before the launch took place.

This is the 5th launch, out of 30 planned for the year 2018. It is a major increase from 18 that was launched last year 2017.
The rocket carried the Hispasat 30W-6 satellite into geosynchronous orbit. The Spanish company that owns the satellite wants to increase its broadband coverage in Africa, Europe and Americas.
Hispasat is a Spanish communications satellite company that covers Europe, North Africa and the Americas from orbital positions 30° West and 61° West.
The satellite will orbit at about 36,000 kilometers over the equator.
