From April 14 to 16, 2025, Marrakech, Morocco, became the epicenter of Africa’s digital transformation as it hosted the third edition of GITEX Africa. This landmark event brought together over 45,000 participants and 1,450 exhibitors from more than 130 countries, solidifying its status as the continent’s largest technology and startup exhibition with Nigeria taking the lead.

The event featured over 800 startups from 60 countries and facilitated more than 1,500 meetings between investors and entrepreneurs. Notable initiatives included the Supernova Challenge, Africa’s largest startup pitch competition, and the Morocco 200 program aimed at propelling Moroccan startups onto the global stage.
Government Support and Global Partnerships
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan government reaffirmed its commitment to digital transformation. H.E. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate in Charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, emphasized the government’s dedication to establishing Morocco as a key enabler of Africa’s digital future.
International organizations also played a pivotal role. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) participated as the Economic Development Partner, highlighting the intersection of global investment, technology, and entrepreneurship.Additionally, the European Innovation Council (EIC), Europe’s largest deep-tech investor, engaged in conferences and workshops, signaling strong international interest in Africa’s tech landscape.
